THE DOGSBODY TRUST

The aim of the trust is to help children and adults who are scared or have very little knowledge about dogs. We visit schools and groups with our dogs and teach people how to react to specific circumstances and how to interact with dogs safely and confidently.

We also rescue, rehabilitate and rehome dogs who are in need of new homes. Our aim is to rehabilitate the dogs so that when they find their new homes they are trained and will have a better chance at their new start in life!

Woody was my first rescue dog who was rehomed with behaviour problems through Springer Spaniel Welfare. When he came to me he had fear aggression and had bitten a child with apparently no provocation. After 5 years he plays with my children and is a working farm dog. Had I not taken him on, the likelihood is that he would have bitten again and been put to sleep.

Matt I rehomed thinking he was a perfectly normal, slightly noisy 18 month old border collie. A couple of months later as he began to relax and show his true colours, he started to show signs of aggression and unfortunately bit someone. Two years later he is still unpredictable, hence the muzzle but controllable and has just won 4th place in his first agility competition.

Although both dogs still suffer with aggression issues they function well as part of my pack. My aim is to achieve this with other dogs I rescue and rehome.

The dog shows, agility shows and displays are all to raise money for The Dogsbody Trust. All donations are welcome and much appreciated.
